ETRO SPRING 2026: MAXIMALISM IN ITS PUREST FORM

Etro’s Spring 2026 collection is a full sensory feast. Marco de Vincenzo, who has been at the helm of the iconic Italian house for three years, embraces maximalism with a keen awareness of its heritage, while adding his own contemporary twist. Tassels, metallic studs, ruffles, glass beads, and a profusion of prints both classic and “homemade” intertwine with metallic glitters to create a theatrical, almost operatic spectacle. The collection is a kaleidoscope: every detail demands attention, yet together they tell a vibrant, cohesive story.

Music served as a major inspiration, particularly through de Vincenzo’s collaboration with La Niña, a rising Neapolitan artist who fuses her local dialect with electronic sounds and layered harmonies. “Music isn’t just a backdrop for me it fuels imagination. When I began designing this collection, I knew La Niña had to be part of it,” the designer revealed backstage. The rhythm of her compositions echoed in every seam, every fabric movement, creating a subtle yet palpable dialogue between sound and fashion. It’s a rare synergy where music becomes a central element of the visual narrative.

The runway itself felt almost performative. Carola Moccia, alongside her band and choir, delivered a high energy set atop a stage covered in kilims, evoking the underground clubs of the ’70s rebellious, colorful, and alive. Yet even the most dynamic rhythm could not overshadow the sheer richness of the collection: ruffles, studs, tassels, glass beads, and bold prints collided in a controlled explosion of luxury.

Among this visual cacophony, sharp, flirty skirts with side slits, subtly patterned Etro denim, and statement bags stood out pieces that could elevate even the simplest outfit. De Vincenzo notes that after three years at Etro, he has learned to balance the house’s traditional maximalism with a modern sense of rhythm and proportion: “Maximalism is still my creative playground, but now I play with it deliberately boldly, but never excessively.”

Etro Spring 2026 is more than a fashion show it’s an artistic manifesto, a riot of colors and patterns, and a reminder that fashion can be both theatrical and deeply personal. The collection celebrates individuality, joy, and aesthetic courage, standing out boldly in a world often dominated by minimalism.
