LOEWE‘S NEW ERA

Jack McCullough and Lazaro Hernandez, best known as the founders of Proenza Schouler, have stepped into the storied halls of Loewe. For the Spring/Summer 2026 season, the American designers unveiled their very first women’s collection for the 178 year old house, marking the beginning of a bold new era at Paris Fashion Week.

Taking the reins from Jonathan Anderson was no small task. Over the course of a decade, Anderson infused Loewe with wit, surrealism, and a highly acclaimed modernity. Now, McCullough and Hernandez face the challenge of honoring nearly two centuries of heritage while introducing their own voice. Their debut proved they are more than ready for the role.

The runway was a study in contrasts. Sculptural leather minis in saturated primary colors echoed Loewe’s artisanal mastery, while flowing flamenco inspired dresses brought a sense of movement and Mediterranean warmth. Leather long the backbone of Loewe was reimagined through structured blazers, abbreviated skirts, and oversized, architectural bags. Asymmetrical gowns revealed hidden panels in fiery orange, magenta, and yellow, flickering like flames with each step down the catwalk.

Playfulness was woven throughout, a subtle nod to Anderson’s mischievous spirit. Shimmering towel like dresses and voluminous striped gowns, resembling sun-bleached canopies reworked into couture, closed the show. Even seemingly ordinary pieces rumpled polos, stretched tank tops were imbued with an offhand elegance, as though lifted straight from a beach afternoon into the Paris spotlight.

McCullough and Hernandez have struck a delicate balance: respecting the DNA of Loewe while breathing fresh energy into its codes. Their debut signals not only continuity, but also a confident step forward a Loewe that remembers its past yet strides toward a luminous future.
